Diesel Exhaust Fluid

Local fellow was cleaning used Diesel Exhaust Fluid barrel. He had absently minded dumped water and fluid on lawn by the outside hydrant. Now worried grass would be killed. I replied that I thought the fluid was in fact a form of nitrogen fertilizer. Did I give false information or indeed is the fluid ok for the grass? Ironically his use for the barrel will be storing rainwater for his lawn.

Probably be mowing that spot three times a week.

If there was a lot of DEF it may die for awhile but either way going to be some thick grass.

Keep it wet and a lot of grass will grow, dry will probably kill grass.

32.5% Urea.

Similar to commercial liquid nitrogen fertilizer.
