Tractor opinions please

Hello I am in the market for another tractor. I started out with a to30 ferguson and stepped up to a IH 424 with loader 4 years ago and just sold it as it was to heavy for my needs. I was thinking compact or sub compact. I am wanting to get another brush cutter as I sold mine with my old tractor. I am only brush cutting around 2 acres. I do want a loader. I have held on to my 6 foot box blade and 7 foot scraper blade, if need be I can sell or trade this off. I would like to get either a belly mower or pull behind mower, someone has offered me a 72 in finish mower if I need it. My main question is what is the hp cut out on the newer tractors, for using different mowers like a 5ft brush cutter and a 5 or 6 foot finish mower (if I dont get a belly mower) I have been use to brush cutting 30 inch plus tall grass with my old tractor and don't know how a newer one, less hp will handle it. also figure I will get a hydrastat trans. I am planning using the mower in a couple years instead of brush hogging, I do have zero turn I use on the other 3.5 acres so I figure if the wife and I can mow at the same time we can knock it quick. thanks in advance, I can get a new subcompact mahindra for the price of an early 2000s compact tractor

I would go with 3000 series Deere or New Holland
Boomer. The main thing is buy from dealer with best
service.

Cant offer any tractor advise.....but think about one of those mowers designed for 4wheelers/ATVs. They come in 4 or 5ft widths.
It has it's own engine. and can cut some pretty nasty stuff. You can pull it with your new little tractor, lawn tractor or ATV

I guess I should have added I think this was set up for heavy loader use, tires weighted with wheel weights and filled. Probably would be better if I didn't have all that in the tires and used a ballast box instead.

The mahindra dealer it's only 5 miles up the road from me. I don't have a problem buying used, but I'm not going to buy used if I can get a new one for a little more

Mahindras are/seem to be pretty good tractors.Saw somewhere that they are the No 1 small tractor in the world.A close dealer is
a BIG plus-For ANY tractor.

A finish mower doesn't require much horsepower. Make sure the mower is at least as wide as the overall width of the tractor.

The 3 or 4 series tractors from John Deere are really nice. Deere is also offering a 6 year warranty on these, with 0% financing up to 5 years.

New? Used? How much do you plan to spend?

Last fall I bought two new Kubota tractors to replace two Massey Ferguson tractors that proved to be disappointments (both MF and their dealer). The smaller one is an L6060, the larger one an M9960. I used the L6060 for the first time yesterday (it is finally drying out) and again today. Though expensive, it is the cat's meow. I can mow small parcels and cut in large parcels to finish up with the larger M9960 much more quickly than I could with the (much less expensive) MF 533 that I previously used for such tasks before finishing up with a MF 2635.

FWIW, the L6060 is thirsty. It uses noticeably more fuel to do the same jobs that I previously did with the old tech (2007 version of the 135) 533 but I did such jobs in considerably less time. Additionally, I can finish up with the M9960 in less time than time than I did with a less expensive and smaller MF 2635 while using approximately the same amount of fuel (won't know exactly until tomorrow when I refill the M9960).

What we have here is the classical time/capital trade-off that mankind has faced since the industrial revolution. In my case the trade-off decision has been complicated by poor support by MF and their dealer.

Hard to go wrong with the right Kubota.

Agreed.

I have a Kubota B1750HST, bought new in 1994.

This machine has proven to be the most satisfying major purchase of my life.

In the 22 years since I bought it, it has needed absolutely nothing aside from recommended maintenance. Nothing. Not so much as a fuse, fan belt or light bulb. It has not been abused and it has kept inside and does receive routine recommended lube, oil and filter changes.

(quoted from post at 13:06:15 05/29/16) Big question:
How much are you looking to spend?

Depends on the tractor. I would go as hi as 15 or a little more, but as I stated before I have seen some new 26hp tractors for around that.
