idler shaft removal

Howdy all any help in removal of the idler shaft nut if it won't come loose? How to hold the shaft from spinning without damage to it?Got one side off other is a bear!
 
Air wrench is excellent idea. I've used that a lot where the shaft will turn, and you just ain't gonna get a grip on it.

Well Lawdee doo daa!37 Chief, I started tinkin wit my leetle head and got myself a 1x2 piece of mahogony I had layin around here, drilled a 3/4" hole at a 30 degree angle and had a "wrench " for the end without the nut, put the impact on the other end and :shock: off it came!!! thanks to you I'm not breaking things and cursing like a mad man, can't let the grandkids see that! :oops: thanks for savin my bacon!Steve
