im wally. ihave no p/c knolage, so don't get on here often. i can't spell, so i don't try to show how dumb i am. i have been given an old case tractor that has been sitting for close to 30 years. there is no paint, and i have found no model #. can anyone tell me where to look. it has a three point ,wide rears, and a long steering shaft on left side, metal is straght, except the fenders. the man that owned it, drove it home , shut it off, and never could get it started agan, its over fifty miles from home so i don't get there often. thanks wally

Could be an SC too. Cast iron grill or pressed steel? Cast iron would likely be a DC,pressed steel and SC.

Does your tractor look like this ? 1950 VA Case

Open the cover on the mag or distributor and run a piece of wet or dry 400 grit through the points until they're shiny. Then see if you're getting fire to your plugs. You will need a helper.

Make sure you have fresh fuel. Also make sure the tractor is out
of gear. If you have a distributor you will need a fully charged battery. Hal

it has a cast iron grill. also has a distributer.rrlund you are just a few miles west of me. im in waterford near pontiac. i don't have equip to show pics. wally

Could also be an RC. Does it have a flathead engine or overhead valves. DC & SC have overhead valves. If it's a DC there are two hand hole openings in the side of the engine, SC doesn't have them. RC has a flat head engine. I'm not a Case guy, google some pics of each model to be sure.

Cast Iron grille plus 3 point equals DC, probably 1952-54 era. Serial Number tag is on dash beneath battery or on left flange of engine block where it bolts to the transmission case.

Could not be a RC because they were very far too early to have hydrolic that is needed for a 3 point and for SC or DC it has to be one of the last couple of years as earlier did not have hydrolics

Wally, here's a picture of an SC for comparison.
Some of the DC's looked similar as well.
