Is it just me....

...or are the flowering trees really pretty this year? The magnolias were bitten by all the cold weather late. We actually had snow on the ground about a week back briefly. Flowering crabs were amazing this year and the lilacs are really going right now. Last year I bought the old farm house on the front of my place. With it I got the tree in the picture. I believe it is a Buckeye. The picture barely does it justice. One thing...seems to have a peculiar scent.

My wife commented the other day that this year ever blooming plant seemed to have really been extreme . The dogwoods and flowers all have beautiful blooms . Have to agree with you this has been a special spring.

Here in mid MN. the apple trees are loaded with blossoms. No way they can support all those apples if they all get pollinated.

I have the same as teddy52. Nice blossoms, and that is all over St. cloud and viewed on a road trip to NW MN. Jim

A good one for all of us I hope! That fence in the picture is the edge of the farm house property and the beginning of my NE field. I chiseled it today and every time I passed by that tree I had to smile.

I have over 40 fruit trees in my yard. Plum. apple, pear, peach, apricot, cherry, chokecherry, buffalo berry. They are all loaded with pollinated small fruit. I am going to start a reduction in the buds to save the branches.

Looks like a couple of big old Horse Chestnuts on an old homestead spot on the home farm. A little quick research, and it looks like they're the same thing!

Na, that couldn't be a Buckeye in Michigan. Someone would have cut it down LOL. Just a football joke, it's a really beautiful tree, but I haven't seen that kind of flower on the buckeye trees here in Ohio.
