Battery sparking

Hi guys, I have a 24 volt 4010 that so long as I run it for a hour or so every couple weeks will keep the batteries charged. Tractor wouldn't turn over so I disconnected all the cables and charged each battery with jumper cables from my truck for a few minutes. The short lead that connects the two batteries together is sparking at the positive hub where the ground is. Melted the terminal some. Everything is hooked up right the cable lengths don't allow it to be hooked up wrong. Tractor starts and runs after the spark. What's up?

Thank you

That is a poor connection, take it apart and shine up the surfaces that are the connection. May solve many problems.

Make sure your connection that has heated up is clean and tight. You have a bad connection there which results in heat and sparking. You may need a new wire and connector to correct the problem.

Thanks guys that sound right, connection is loose I only had a crescent wrench in my pocket and it was too fat had to disconnect to individually jump the batteries as it's 24 volt
