Is a Central hydraulics floor jack that is leaking down worth $40?

I think Central Hydraulics is a Harbor Freight product. Very unlikely that repair parts are available. I'd leave it right where it is.

probably just uses a o-ring on the piston.

I bought some aluminum one and was able to find parts but I would not give $ 40.00 for one I had to fix.

Most likely an o-ring. I have a low profile 2 ton jack I bought from Costco that I fixed. It was kind of a pain in the behind to get it apart and back together again. The only reason I fixed it was it was the only jack I could find that will fit under the front of my car. I would go to Harbor Freight and see what they sell for on sale. Used is half the sale price. Used and not working is half of half of sale price.
