9n ford connecting rods

A machine shop fitted the new pistons and pins into the connecting rods. What I noticed is that when the piston marks are pointed to the front of the engine, that one rod has the marks that identify which cylinder it goes in, opposite of the other three. Are the rods able to be installed both ways?
Thank you

I'm 99% sure the rods in that engine can be installed either way, but turning the one rod around is no big deal, and won't affect "fitting" of the wrist pin and bushings.

I would take it back to the shop and have them correct it.

You paid $$$ for a big job and you deserve better attention to detail than you got.

Verify it's that rod that's the oddball and not the other three beforehand, I believe the suggested rod orientation is in the shop manual, I can't remember, offhand.

Thank you. I will be down there on Monday and I bet it would be a good idea to ask them about it and see if they would like to change them. I was hoping to put them in today, but what is two more days when it has been over a year already.

I did see that it said that the oil splash hole can go to the front or to the rear. I guess if the cap is on the rod correctly, it can go either way.
