Midnight will be fishing opener here in MN. Supposed to have wind about 15 MPH with temps ranging from 33 to 21F. Makes me glad I wait till bass season opens before I go out! Going to be funny thinking about them boys out there trying to figure out if they should chance taking the boat or the icehouse!!

Yeppers, they may want to remember their long johns. Also hard to fish with mittens on.
 
I talked to a brother in law and his best friend a little while ago. They are going out, both wearing winter coveralls.

Here we get a few out after the ice goes out after Crappie and Sun Fish but opener they try to put off until after spawn. Most boats didn't get wet until last night. Most of those will be off the lakes right after Labor Day. About the only boats out after that are duck boats. Sure there are a few guys that will still fish till the ice come in bit they are darn few.

Opener here is normally at least in the mid 40's. Last night while not really cold like we can get was brutal for this time of year.

I haven't lived anyplace for a trout opener or trout season sense 71. So I did forget about that part.
