White/Oliver tractors.

I've always liked the White/Oliver line. However,I've thought the shifter on the floor was kind of in the way. Do the newer ones have the shifters on the side? I think I saw one once that had the 'stick' on the right side, similar to a Ford.Any pictures? Thanks,Steve

The 2-88 2-110 2-135 2-155 and 2-180 and later tractors, had the gear shift beside the seat. The tractors built before those models had the shift leaver come up through the floor.

The shift lever is in a good location on them, like on my 1850 I can shift with either hand, comes in handy with the loader.

The first picture is an 82 Series 3 2-135 with the console shift. They still used the Oliver double H pattern plus the 3 speed Over/Under Hydraul Shift for 18 speeds. The second picture shows the one in a 79 2-105. The whole layout in those was the same as the Oliver 1855 and 1955. Same double H pattern with the 3 speed Over/Under. The shift had quite a bend in it and was off to the side of the dash, well out of the way.
In the picture of the one with the console shift, the Over/Under lever just to the left of the shift pattern plate.
On the other one,the shift is the far right large red knob, the center red knob is the throttle and the left red knob is the Over/Under.

It's not even in the way. It comes down just to the left of the brake pedal where you can't step anyway.
