4040 John Deere with 359 turbo

Where do I get a new injector line for cylinder number 6. I don't want to buy one from Deere so what do I do?

Well Jerrod you only gave us partial information.

First things first. The US sold JD 4040 had the 404 engine in it. So you either have a JD 4050 or JD 4040S. These did have the 359 turboed engine in them. Second, I do not under stand the not wanting to buy parts from JD when the fuel line in question is not high priced. AR78296 is number six injector line, full list price is $44.28. That is not a bad price for the OEM part. So if price is your objection then I would try finding a used one. I can tell you a custom made fuel injection line from most injection pump repair places will cost way more than $45.

If none of this works then I guess just park it or drive it leaking.

You bought a John Deere so why not get the part from them tractors are ok but parts arent dont sound rite.

If only cracked, or worn, I have brazed them successfully. (Oxy/acetylene torch and bronze rod.)

Most diesel pump shops can make one if you bring them the old one for a pattern..

I agree with JD. Buy it from the dealer if it is that cheap. Used will cost you as much or more.

Gotta agree with the others, your options are Deere, salvage or having one made. I bought one a couple of years ago cause I could get it that day from a salvage yard. Price was cheap enough and it didn't leak but wasn't in the best shape. I ordered a new replacement and put that on as soon as it came in. Just didn't like the one I used to get back in the field. I myself would go with a new one.
