Conventional oil and synthetic oils mix with no problem . If you are low you can add either oil . You will lose most of the higher grade properties but still lubricate your motor . Your next oil change will get you back on track .

Advise from the Mobile One website .

This is one you'll hear a lot of conflicting stories from "ALWAYS use the same brand and weight motor oil at each oil change and top off with the SAME brand and weight" to "if the API rating is the same mix 'em to your heart's content". I'm in the middle for my pick-up, it gets an oil change every 5,000 miles most of the time I use Castrol, Motorcraft or Valvoline and since I'm not as stubborn as I used to be I use the recommended 5W-20, not the 10W-40 I used to like. The thing has used at least quart between every oil change since new so buy 7 quarts when I'm going to change the oil, 6 get used in the oil change and one goes into the left rear door pocket for when it's needed. It's now 15 years old with 160,000 miles so sometimes I need to get another quart before oil change time comes around or change a bit early and that means we might mix brands a bit.
