Looks like a wild grape vine to me, not sure how to kill. We have one cut it down to a stub and its taking over again.

Not grape vines, property on other side is somebody's else-cant cut branches off.

Wait, you can't cut it but you are going to kill it? Huh? If you are going all covert on it dump a gallon of gas at the base.

Here in Iowa you can cut anything on your side of the property line. If this brush has been an issue with the neighbor, then it dying is going to land right on your doorstep, possibly in a letter from a lawyer. Find out what you can legally do before you go killing it off.

Not clear- are these growing on your side of the fence, or his? If on his, and you're going to kill it, hope you are a lawyer so as to minimize your attorney fees when he hauls you into court. You can cut anything that comes on your side of the fence, but can't kill the plant.

It looks like some type of the Asian or Japanese honeysuckle to me. Since it is around houses I would guess it is something that was planted or dragged in by the other landowners. I am still thinking the honeysuckle.

But first, you gotta know how the herbicide works in the plant, and how the plant is growing.

You mentioned spraying for three weeks. Many brushkillers have to be translocated to the roots. It is not unusual for it to take two to three weeks to kill some things.

Especially if it is cold, or overcast and the plant is not actively growing. It needs good, hot, sunny days to work good.

Then if you spray a plant that has already been sprayed, its growing cycle is shutting down from the first spray, so second or third sprays are a waste of chemical and time.

Did you mean Crossbow? If you soaked it good with that, just forget the brush is there and look again in a month.

I think you are being impatient.

looks like a pretty dead bunch of garbage to me. i would just cut off with a chainsaw and haul that junk away. deal with stumps later. thats how i would do it but you say its on the other side of fence so i think u have a problem! why not discuss with the other guy? he might say go to it buddy.

I'd probably leave it like that, good for security. No one will walk through there. Already looks dead.

Looks hammer dead to me.Got some that looks like it I sprayed last year. Crossroad is the generic Crossbow.

It is a type of honey suckle.

rkh- I do have a couple of questions though.....

Do I see 3 strands of barbed wire on top of that 6 to 8 foot high chain link fence?

Why would you need that kind of fencing? Almost looks like a prison yard! LOL!
