Just came in for a quick sandwich and then back out to finish planting corn. About 2 hrs. left. Started on the 18th. and then a 12 day rain delay. 175 acres with the 5100 6-row. Everything else will go to beans, most with planter and a few small odd fields I will put in with drill. Just works better. So. central Mn. Have a good day.

I haven't even started and won't for a while. Three inches of rain in the last two weeks. The ground is way too soggy to even haul manure. I planted oats two weeks ago today and haven't turned a tire since. It's looking doubtful that I'll even be done by the first of June.
I've resorted to relacing baler belts today. Might as well get hay tools ready because there won't be any break between planting corn and cutting hay.

I never liked the years like that. You did not know whether to cut hay or plant corn. As usual never enough help around to do both. But, by October you kind of forget about the spring and everything turns out pretty good.

Just got back out there myself. Between the last time i planted here in my part of NWIA and now my three gauges had all the way from 5.5 to 6.14". Worked 90 acres this afternoon and plan to get it planted by 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. That leaves 80 acres to work and plant by sunday eve when they talk more rain. I'm a one man show this year and i am finding out this body doesnt have the stamina it used to have. Even with auto steer and a nice quiet air conditioned cab i cant make it more than 12-14 hours anymore.

Last field i planted i had one round to go to finish and row#10 blew a fuse and the motor for that row quit. Replaced the fuse and away i went again. I compare the fuse to the modern version of a chain link. During the rain i logged onto the cloud and found out i have been averaging 4.8 MPH while planting and the singulation was 99.6%. Its a whole different world planting today compared to the first twenty years of my planting experience pulling a simple IH 58 planter with a two banger Deere.

too much rain here ,nuthin planted,.only a few hi groud fields could plant ,,. trouble is if you wait one day for further drying , it rains overnite
