Definitely not precision farming

Broadcasted some red clover on this wheat. Never tried this before, real flying by the ares of your pants work. Will have to wait to August to see how many miss spots. These little spreaders are made to use with a ATV but, I dont have one. So I stuck it on to the weight bar on the front of the 1030. Seemed to work, the seeds are on the field and not in the bag in the shed anymore. lol Bruce

I use a Herd seeder just like that one I adapted to the Cat 0 3pt hitch on my Massey Ferguson 1650 garden tractor works good.I put in wildlife plots works just right for that.

I have one,and it is actually very accurate.I have used it many times, and if I am careful setting it(I use a drill bit to set the opening) and drive the speed on the chart, the seed runs out when it should. You do have to know the size of your field.Mine is 3pt.Mark

I used both Bruce's method and later had a Vicon Spreader like yours. Biggest advantage I could see was with Vicon and a couple small seed attachments is you could control pounds per acre with more precision.

I did that on the back of an Allis D14 once and it worked fine. It might be easier to keep the right speed with a tractor than an ATV.

What you didn't buy a $50,000 seeder? I use a PTO seeder to sow ryegrass and bermuda grass seed. They work very well on smaller acreage once you figure out the settings and speed of your tractor.

I can assure you you will be able to see where the tires ran because the clover will sprout better there.
