'92 p.up.5.7 Chev. Engine

Have to remove left cyl head. I can not get the fuel lines to move away from the carb,so wondering if carb has to be removed first before the intake manifold can be removed. I am doing this work w/engine in the truck.

Been a while since I have done one of these.

Take the throttle body off, chances are the gasket is bad anyway. I sold my old 1990 2 years ago, 286,ooo miles and run like a top, still had ice cold air.
 
The fuel lines to the TBI are (IIRC) secured to an intake manifold bolt near the coil, and (farther down) to one of the bell housing bolts.

Once you find those attachment points and remove the nuts the lines are a bit easier to deal with.
