Saw youre picture of total distruction a couple of days ago. Saw this at my local mower repair shop yesterday. They have it on the shelf like a work of art going past the parts counter. Just hate it when a $7oo.oo engine does this!!!!

I had a 429 Ford truck engine that did that except it also cocked the piston enough the crack the block vertically in the cylinder bore which allowed antifreeze in which scored that piston and the one opposite it in the block.

Was driving a 70 series chevy tandem gravel truck with a 427 around 60 MPH when it locked up and the rear wheels started jumping off the pavement. Exhaust valve went down in the piston as shown. Broke the piston and wedged the cylinder and cracked it. Cracked the head, twisted the crank and bent the rod. All that was left was 7 rods and pistons, one head and the intake. That engine was running just fine and then it wasn't.
