If any knows of an engine floating around.....

JCB 3CIII tractor, loader, backhoe

Finally going to have to do something about the engine. Wish I could just find a decent running one to drop in but I doubt there are many Leyland diesel 4/98 engines floating around North America. Guess I'm looking at an in frame. Don't use it enough to justify replacing it. 100-200 hours a year.

Oldtanker:

Check your auto wrecking yards, there ought to be a small 4 cyl. automotive Diesel that you could drop in there.

Just my 2 cents, HTH .

I'm not familiar with that brand. Is the transmission divorced from the engine? I've seen some that have a driveshaft between the two. If it is could you use a power unit motor? There are a jillion irrigation wells that use 4cylinder cummins, perkins, JD, Case and many others. It wouldn't be a huge job to use one of them.

I sold one to a guy to put in a JCB backhoe out of an old Leyland tractor a couple years ago. I was kind of surprised to find JCB used that engine
