A techumsa that has a metal gas tank and air filter like that is back in the 60s to very early 70s.

The numbers and code stamped into the blower housing can tell you the manufacture date of the engine. That usually comes pretty close to the actual date of the tiller.

Some action on google, like

Seems like they were Lauson earlier, with some links in the engine dating section here

They were done in Oz as Kirby Techumseh ( I think Kirby did the refrigeration side as well).

We had a 3 hp engine that looked like that from about mid 50's.

And it was our(who is now Cat qualified) did his first spanner work on.

According to that serial number and model number, your engine was built on the 344th day of 1974. It is a horizontal shaft engine of 6 cubic inches displacement.
This is straight from the Tecumseh Engine Service manual for mechanics.

An H60 is a 6hp aluminum block engine, pretty good sized for the early 1970s. The Troy-Bilt Horse tiller of the same vintage would have the HH60 (cast iron) but the same HP.

Old Ariens (Jet) brand tiller sold as a hardware store line?
