OT 6 lug chevy wheels

I had a 60's chevy truck bed trailer give to me and it has one split rim. They are 15 in. Does anyone know if the newer 6 lug wheels will fit?

I think it was 74 when they went to 5 lug. And the 6 lug fron early 30's Chevy cars fit the 1/2 ton trucks thru 73, just difference in offset.

They should fit. The center hole in the aftermarket wheels is a smidge larger but the bolt pattern is the same. I've got a 69 chevy truck bed trailer that has aftermarket wheels.

Wheels from a six lug half ton 4x4 will fit, and have the correct size center. They were used until '87. The six lug pattern is the same on later aluminum 16 inch wheels, but the lug studs will have to be changed on early hubs as the originals will be too short for the thicker aluminum wheels.

The Chev 6 lug rims have had the same bolt pattern since way back in the 50s. So yes there the same and also the same as the Toyota and many others pickup with the 6 lug wheels. I have 14 inch and 15 inch and 16 inch rims that will all bolt on to the Chev trucks

Exactly what model Toyota fits? I asked a short while back on here about 14" wheels to fit and was told only Ford Courier would fit. My 15" the tires are large enough they hit the bed loaded on a homemade trailer and I have very good 14" that would give me good tire clearance.

A simple reference I use when checking things like this is website catalogs for aftermarket brake parts manufacturers.
Raybestos for example.
Click on the automotive catalog, enter your vehicle info and select rear brake drum, select a part number and it will give you all the dimensions you are after.
-Bolt circle
-Center hole size
-Stud hole size

This will not tell you anything about the offset of the mounting flange of the rim but that is east enough to measure.

Some are really close, just enough to screw you up if you do not measure carefully.
2007 Ford f-150 uses a 6 bolt pattern as well but just to f-series things up they made a bolt circle a tiny bit smaller 135mm or 5.315"
The rims you will need have a 5.5" bolt circle.

(quoted from post at 19:06:28 04/24/16) Wheels from a six lug half ton 4x4 will fit, and have the correct size center. They were used until '87. The six lug pattern is the same on later aluminum 16 inch wheels, but the lug studs will have to be changed on early hubs as the originals will be too short for the thicker aluminum wheels.

Lots of 6-lug steel rims on post-'87 trucks too. My current '15 is the first truck I've owned with alloy wheels.

The Toyota 4X4 and most any if not all of the others as long as they are 6 lug but most are also 15 inch so that would not help you. But the 14 inch rim for a Mitsubishi 6 lug will fit if they clear the brakes that is.

There are no brakes on this trailer made from a Chevy car front axle from before they went to independant front supension. When I go up to the pick and pull sometime I will have to walk through and see what they have.

If you are staying with chevy, the 6 lug truck bolt pattern has never changed at least until 2014 and probably newer. I mentioned trucks because there is a smaller 6 lug pattern used on more modern smaller SUV type vehicles but not the tahoe or suburbans. This includes all 1/2 ton trucks that are 6 lug, some 3/4 ton trucks/vans if 6 lug.

A few others to mention if you are just looking for some matching wheels/tires.

Isuzu trucks and SUV's
Nissan trucks and SUV's (including Infinity)
Toyota trucks and SUV's (including Lexus)

i can tell you if the axle is from the early 60's the new style rim, from 88 on, will not fit, the center hole is smaller, though the bolt pattern is the same, i have the same problem here a old 62 stepside trailer and a bunch of newer 6 hole wheels and tires , i havent taken a grinder to the rims.....yet, but i might, a 1/4 inch would get the center to fit the older axle
