Phone question

There is a Volvo phone by the company Volvo that makes vehicles. If that's the one calling you???????

VOIP is Voice over Internet Protocol It is a common fact that much of the phone conversations are partially on the Net now. VOIP is a service (with several suppliers) that is kinda like a land line over the net. Jim

No. it is not that. Janicholson has answered my question and I will still keep my landline. The phone I have will only work with a land line as it is a captioning phone for hard of hearing people and cell that does nothing except make or recieve calls.

Its worth looking into. I had 3 land lines at my office (primary line, rollover line and data/FAX/internet line), $270 a month. Changed to a VOIP system, pay $50 for the single data line from the phone company, and $25 for the system per month, plus $25 for FAX (which many don't need). Does everything the previous system did, including voice mail and forwarding calls to my cell when I'm out of the office, for a substantial saving.

I think voice over IP is available here but I don't want to give up my land line. Like Donjr, I was a phone man till 6 and a half years ago for 43 years. I don't think I could go back tomorrow and start over where I left off. I started working on cross arms and glass insulators. This new stuff is way over my head.
