OT Winding down....

Just about done here for another year with tax returns. Two are "in progress" on my desk still, the rest are waiting to be picked up. One of the owners of a corporate client called here this afternoon and said his usual guy at H&R Block claims the K-1 from the company is too complicated and he does not know how to handle it on the return so he is bringing it over here for me to do. And the trustee for a trust I have done in past years that was poached by Ameriprise called and said that the accountants for Ameriprise could not figure out how to do the tax return. So that one is coming back to me also. You would think those big shot/big city corporate accountants could handle something a country CPA like myself put together...guess not! Tomorrow I am heading over to pull the corn planter up to the front and start putting it all together. I'm thinking about this time tomorrow night the place will be reeking of Bengay! Par for the course!

No use waiting until the last few days. Especially if you have a set of unusual cicumstances. Then take 'em second hand to a guy that's swamped with spring planting. Yeah, right!

Hey Ray! It's $$$$! I do this every single year. I wrap things up early because I work some pretty ridiculous hours and have a good support person. Then I sit around the last couple days waiting on the panic calls. People who need help but cannot find anyone to do it. I generally pick up a couple extra returns just by being willing to answer the phone. Usually not good ones like these, though.

What a nightmare! People would wait until then too! The day is not gonna come where I am doing tax returns in July. I be sitting up by the bay eating cherries and hoping the deer aren't being to hard on the crop. ACTUALLY....I be sitting up there worrying did the N get put on evenly or am I gonna have zebra stripes in the corn like the first time I planted it! :(

Here in NY we get what we pay in school taxes on the farm back with our income tax. Last year I had to get my state senator involved to get it, finally in Sep. I've got this years already! Over $4000. Sent in fed and state late Feb. Still waiting for my gas tax refund though. Sent that in first of the year.

I've heard that the biggest hazard to you're financial wellbeing is to sign up with Ameriprise.....
