1936 case O 12 tractor

I and my Dad went yesterday to look at a 1936 Case O-12 tractor. When we got there we looked at it and bought it what I thought was interesting is that a Orchard tractor did not have the fenders for the out side to cover the rear wheels. It looked like a small tractor to me and it is a crank start engine. Questions: Can I put an electric starter on this tractor? Since this tractor is the size close to the Farmall Cub how does it compare to the Farmall cub. What color is the basic color for this tractor the one we have right now rustic color. What type of imformation can you tell me about this model. I think it is a really neat tractor because it is small but it looks like it has a lot of use.

I don't know everything but I've never heard of a C-12. If it's a 1936 model then about the only thing it can be is a CO. There should be a model and serial number tag on the toolbox.

(quoted from post at 15:08:09 04/15/16) think he means a 0-12 Farmall not a CASE

The only '12' series tractor I'm aware of is IH . F12(Farmall);O12(orchard);W12('wheatland'); I12(industrial).Could you be thinking CaseIH? CaseIH did not exist till '85(the merger/buyout).Your tractor wound be a IH product, not a Case.A 'x'12(1933 to 1938) would have about 12 horsepower(113 cubic inch),is bigger in stature than a Cub. A Cub(1948 to the early 1970s) has something like 8 horse(60 cubic inch) The two are completely different tractors. Post a picture so we can help you identify what you have.

Late F12 were available with electric start. I believe Heisler also made an electric start 'package.Several years ago, a man from the Dakotas(I think his name was Dove) made a kit that used a pinto ring gear and starter.A friend bought one,pd over $500 for the kit. There have been numerous 'Rube Goldberg' systems, some of whigh worked very well.

The O12 was a product of International Harvester and at that point in time had no connection with JI Case. Some orchard tractors did not have the full fender skirts, just some modifications to avoid damaging the limbs.

I am so sorry I had this person come in and starting about there Case and I just put in the word Case when it should had been McCormic Deering O 12. Yes it is now I.H.C
