Local auctioneer on Machinery Pete

Scott and John are good auctioneers there is no doubt. Around here if you want your stuff sold and not stole they are your guys. Im an auction junky that is not loyal to just one auctioneer. I have seen the difference in prices, crowd size and over all appeal of the sale site. Scott is 2nd generation, his dad Jim called sales until his voice gave out in his late 60s. Scott also took over where his dad left off selling at weekly livestock auction sales.

Bill Sheridan was once my favorite auctioneer. I remember many years ago when he was working with his brother and son Doug was a little one playing on site. Now the brother is long gone and Doug is calling at sales...when they have live ones which is rare. Mostly on line and stuff goes way high. Seems like I see a lot of very similar equipment offered over and over too. I still buy a lot of things from them but you need to go to the previews because the descriptions on the website are pure fiction a lot of the time. I bought my JD 7000 thru Bill.

Funny you should mention their inspections.. I went to the one in Hudson Monday because the 2 pieces of equipment I wanted had no description, no size, no nothing, and the pictures left a little to be desired as well. On a side note, Monday was a nice day to take a drive and have a look see before I had to be into work, and I found a few things other than what I went to see that I would like to have.. That is the bad side of going to have a look see lol.

Just like his dad,he likes to know people by name. I was standing close one time when Jim asked the clerk to find out what one bidders name was. The guy had been bidding a lot,so he wanted to be able to call him by name. Scott's constantly getting on me when he needs a bid. lol
