Can anybody tell me where I can get a new or reground camshaft for my 40 Farmall A? Im surprised its becoming a problem given the popularity of this tractor.I tried YT and all the other old tractor places that I know of, including my local tractor dealer....nothing.Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
So just what makes you think you need a reground cam ive had many of out when refreshing the engine and never seen one yet that looked worn. Even with a small amount of weat that engine will never know the difference. Its a simple engine designed to last for a long time with replaceable liners and pistons but i have yet to see a bad cam. Ihave some from engines parted out if you want to replace yours you can have it for postage and packing.
 
I have a cam that is in a broken A block that was a good running engine till the tractor hit a tree and broke into 3 or more parts. It is not new or reworked but should be just fine
 
Found a number of used ones on the 'net for $125 and up, probably more than I would pay for a used one.

FIAT dba CASE IH has them new for about $255.

Current part # is 353609R31, replaces 43251DA, 353609R26, 353609R29, 353609R3, 353609R13, 353609R15, 353609R20, 353609R23, 353609R30, 353609R1, 353609R2, 353609R11, 353609R12, 353609R14, 353609R16, 353609R17, 353609R18, 353609R19, 353609R21, 353609R22, 353609R24, 353609R25, 353609R27, 353609R28, 9315D.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. The old cam was definitely damaged and needs to be replaced. I did find a source for a new cam through the information you guys provided. I would rather put a brand new one in there than a used one only because there is a lot of machining being done to the motor, but I appreciate very much all of the offers.
