Hydraulic troubles

I have an international 2424 that I have put a international 2000 loader on. The problem I am having is that the tractor runs fine when I am using the loader (most of the time), but when i stop using the loader the engine starts bogging down (again most of the time) so I have to start raising and lowering the bucket to keep from killing the engine. I have no idea what could be causing this.

I would look at the loader valve. relief valve could be stuck, could be incorrect valve for the loader(closed center instead of correct open center)return line from the valve could have a restriction. Instead of returning oil to the sump it sounds like it is restricted causing the engine to labor when the valve is in neutral.

Agree, it sounds like your hyd pump is working hard building up pressure and blowing it through the relief port at full pressure.

you have a closed center valve on an open center system. Get the right valve and things will be fine. Keep running it like you are and expect big trouble.

What the others have said. Sounds like a closed center valve on an open center tractor. I'm sure there is a plug on the loader valve that can be changed, without needing to change the whole thing. Can you post a pic of the valve or see if you can find a name like Cross or Prince....

The weird thing is I took this loader off of another 2424 that came with it and a back hoe from the factory (haven't mounted the hoe yet). I have used everything from it, where is the center valve and how do I check to see if it is the problem?

You say you are using all the stuff from the backhoe plumbing but without the 'hoe hooked up? Are the hoses to the hoe capped or hooked into each other? I know on my ford they have to be hooked to each other when I take the hoe off. Yours may be similar.

That's what I wondered. I was thinking your model was an industrial number. I had a 3444. If you're in between a loader and backhoe addition, I think that's your trouble. My 3444 had a diverter valve on the fender, which diverted the power steering pump output to the hoe valve. With your "in between" assembly, your flow is being interrupted somewhere.

I think the return line from your loader went to pressure the hoe valves. Then a return line from hoe valves to tractor resivor. Do you have a return line from?
