the redbuds came out10 days ago,, usually 5-7 days the dogwood follows ,,,but not this year ,,. here in southern ind ,,.does anyone know why ,,am d did your dogwoods bloom where you live /?

Full bloom here in Tennessee. Just commented last night may be prettier this year than most.

You are lucky as we just got more snow and cold temperatures. Now paying for the open and warm winter we had.

That is my state tree. Around here they did not bloom yet. If you give them a few fertilizer sticks pounding in around the roots they will really get a lot of blooms.

In north AR they are spotty. On my farm they never did really bloom out pretty, they were only about 1/3 bloomed. Just a couple of miles south of me they were as full as I've ever seen. My place is in a cold spot and we had a big frost just before they normally bloom, that others near here didn't have.

Dogwoods here ( nw NC ) are in full bloom, 10 days earlier than I ever saw before. Blooms on peach trees, Redbuds , Forsythia, Daffodils are already gone. In fact, everything is earlier than ever. All trees in the woods are leafed out fuller than they should be this time of year. Article in today's newspaper mentioned freeze of two days ago and another due this coming weekend. Article said a grower reported strawberries were ripe and picked 60-70 miles south of here. Yesterday I saw a corn plant has sprouted and grown from a stray seed spilled under the roof drip line at the south facing edge of my machine shed. It has 5 leaves. Never would have believed it possible for April 7. Yesterday I saw scattered clumps of orchard grass heading out... 3 weeks early.

Been seeing the red buds and also the wild plums blooming here in Missouri and just starting to see the dogwoods. Camdenton MO has a dogwood festival every year around this time of year

welden and all that responded ,,,just this afternoon .I noticed the dogwoods are starting to bravely put forth a bloom in the warm valley facing south in my cow pasture,..went to Seymour ind today ,and nuthin dogwood looks to be close to blooming..was in liberty ky last week and saw rebuds galore ,,only a couple puny dogwoods in the warm valleys . led me to think that the dogwoods were in some sort trouble til today,,. it is just to BLAME COLD,. gonna have snow and sleet for breakfast Friday morning ,..I think all this rain made the redbuds come early ,,.and some of the hardwoods in the woods are greening up ,.. that usually don't start happening here til around april 20th.

My nursery is in south central KY and as of today there are cherries, redbuds, serviceberry, and dogwoods all blooming. The warm temps the first of March caused everything to bloom at the same time here. Now we are seeing cooler temps. This cool spell would be considered dogwood winter here. Nathan

Dogwoods here in southwestern Pa always are in full bloom on Mother's Day....around May 7 or 9.
