3-PT Hitch question

While it's on a garden tractor, a 3-pt is a 3-pt so I'm hoping you guys can answer a question.

At the tractor side where the top link attaches I have 3 holes for the top link to attach to.

How would moving the top link from the top hole to the bottom hole affect the operation of the hitch?

I guess the same thing can also be asked about the Brinly CAT 0 plow I have as well as it too has three different places for the top link to attach.

Here are pics of the tractor side and of the plow.

The holes change how the implement behaves as you raise and lower it.

Depending on which hole you use and the design of the implement, the implement will raise dead level, rear end high, or rear end low. Usually you want things to raise level, I think.

If there's a standard for the top link location, nobody follows it, hence the multiple holes. You pick the setup that puts the top link parallel with the lower links.

Placeing the pin in the lower hole will cause the tail end of the implement to be raised higher. Should not effect much if any
when implement is working/in the ground. It's all geometry. Just play with it a bit. place the pins in different holes and find
what and how it works.
