Asbestos cloth/forge

I have a PF 200 Pro Forge (round shape) in my truck that is being destroyed by the rough roads in my area. I am going to take it off the swing out and put it on a slide out that will lessens the bouncing while driving. After I reline it, to prevent this happening too soon again, I was going to stuff the inside with something to keep everything inside from jostling around. A couple of questions: Will this help or will the material being pulled in an out abraid the inside of the forge material by pulling it in and out? What materials would be suitable for stuffing the inside? Asbestos has its issues. There are ceramic cloths that are heat resistant and safer. What other materials might I use? Other ideas to preserve the forge traveling down bumpy roads?

Thanks

You might try looking into a refractory lining used in oil fired heating equipment. It can be formed to fit and them cured or fired in place. Just a thought not sure exactly what you are relining.
