The story behind the shirt

The "Real Men Drive Oliver" shirt, that is. When Pop sold Oliver equipment he had a whole truck load of book matches made up with the Lehman Oliver Service, Rt 26A, Lowville and phone number thing. When we were cleaning up Pop's house after he passed, we found a whole carton of the book matches and divided them up amongst the family.

Now a year ago Jeff's hired hand, Skippy, participated in a tractor drive-in day at school and he chose Jeff's 1850 to drive to school. He had the only Oliver there and about the oldest tractor there. One of the other kids gave Skippy some guff about bringing that old Oliver, and Skippy being Skippy, piped up and said: "Real Men Drive Oliver's!!!".

So there you have it. The story behind the "Real Men Drive Oliver's" shirts. Needless to say, Jeff presented Skippy with the first shirt off the press.

Guess I stand corrected. I though real men wore shirts that say US Army, USMC, US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, Police or FD on em!

Just gotta give you Ollie fans some garbage.

Okay fellers here the prices. regular T's are $15, long sleeved shirts are $17, Sweat shirts are around $25. Plus whatever it would cost me to mail them. My wife is laughing her butt off at me. She said, Well, you started something now. (smile) If any of you are interested, let me know and we will get some more made up.

I am not an Oliver guy, and I don't know about the "real men" stuff, but I know Olivers are tough to beat at the antique tractor pulls I go to.

The few times Pop puled his 88 it was usually the Farmalls or he old 2 cylinder JD's that were the toughest to beat. Nick Pallidino from Pompey NY had a 770 he did pretty good with. Won several class championships with it.
