Wish I cold grow an onion like this, over 4 inches and sweet. Not a Vidalia. I picked it up at a roadside stand around Montgomery, Albama

Many reasons for onions of that size. First is the right variety for being large. Second is the right variety for the area you are in, long day onions for the north and short day onions for the south. Thirdly is the right soil, rich loamy soil is the best and lastly is good soil prep, hoeing and weeding. Sweetness also comes with the variety and these varieties have the ability to convert sunshine into sugar which is why they are grown with most of the bulb exposed. Also should say the early the onions are planted the larger they can grow due to good root development.

I'll never go through Alanta again. It was very nice going through Alamba. Only 55 miles more. Driving time through Alanta is. 2 hours less if there is no construction and accidents. Yea, so very little difference in time.

I'm glad you picked the right peanut butter to enjoy with that onion. Choosy mothers choose JIF.
