On the RFD Evening News they have been talking about the impact of rain and temperature on the wheat crop. They talk about wheat that is (or not) "jointed". What does that mean? TIA-DaveK

Jointing is the growth stage of wheat when it grows up from being a seedling to being and adult that's gonna get the job DONE, IE, produce a crop and put money in the bank!

Hi, there was an old guy up on the plateau that grew wheat. He said he let it grow to a certain height then roll it. It would cause the wheat to grow 2 heads, he had a name for that. Anyone know the term or do that? Ed Will Oliver BC

Are you thinking of "vernalize" or "vernalization"? This is what occurs naturally with winter wheat when it goes dormant in cold weather.
