I bought a 7000 6R last yr and I think it has a 100 monitor I will look at it tomorrow if it is a 100 I'll hook it to power but not to the planter and I will report back how it acts. I can't remember it having a switch for 4,6 or row though. if it does I will try it in all positions and see what lights up.

Just curious, Is there any 'Dickey' brand monitors these days ??
back in the 70's, I worked at the largest electronic repair shop
in Branch Co. and became the 'only' person that would work on them.
I was young and recently trained in latest technology(USAF), so wasn't
afraid to 'get to know' the new stuff. CKain

I was wrong here is what I use, I did find the green one on the shelf I forgot about.

I do have a Dickey John too but don't know if it works or not. If it would help I can power up either one of these

Dave,
I went out and hooked my monitor up to tractor. In 4 row mode lights 7&8 have power and 1&2 have no power. In 6 row mode light 8 has power and 1 does not. I think your next move would be hook in to the planter and check the sensors. I don't think you have a problem though but I'm no expert at electronics! John

I'll tell you how I test mine but it does need to be plugged into the planter and powered up. at this point you should have all six lights lit up. with the seed boxes off look in the seed tube should see sensor light on. have the monitor so you can see the lights while standing at all six row units now I stick a wire down the seed tube long enough to go past the sensor then jiggle it should make that row light go out.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the response. In addition to the 100 monitor I have one of those M2000 monitors in a cupboard out to the farmhouse. The plug does not match my planter but I guess Shoup has an adapter. Maybe I should test it also. Don't much like the thing, it's kind of big and gets in the way. I found a dealer here locally who will test the 100 for $45. I think I am going to let him do it. Save us all a lot of trouble.
