wisconsin VH4D

I tore down a wisconsin vh4d engine to replace the rings and pistons and the pistons are not marked and I can't figure out if it has been bored and there is no ring groove so it doesn't need boring I need to figure it out so I can order the correct size rings and pistons Thanks

If it has been bored, the piston will have a stamp of the over size. Also the engine spec.s should be stamped on the ID plate

I have the repair manual and the parts manual if ya need them. Just PM me with your email address.

The factory bore would be 3.250.

Need some way to accurately measure, calipers, ID mike, telescope, etc.

When you get the new rings, best check the end gaps. Rule of thumb, .004 per inch of bore diameter.

A shop manual would be a valuable investment!

Thanks for all the replys ,I got a manual but it doesnt give the measurements of the cylinders in thousands,I dont have the proper tools to measure it so I guess I will have to take it a machine shop and have it measured Thanks

In all the years I have been doing mechanic work, I have NEVER seen where over size pistons have not been stamped with the over size on the top of the piston. The mechanic does not stamp them, it is done by the piston manufacture.
