Well for good or bad I traded off my 1998 Ford F150 and got a newer truck.
SWMBO had a lot to do with picking it out as she liked this one.
Only problem I can see right now is I will have to add some type of running board steps for that short legged woman.

2015 Ram Tradesman 1500
4900 miles
5.7 V8
6 speed auto
No bells or whistles other than a tow hitch that comes standard on this truck.
Still has 2 years of full warranty and 100k mile powertrain.
While it is a single cab think I will be happy with it at this stage in my life.

Nice truck. Just enough miles to knock the price down but still like new. I've had a few Dodge trucks and the engines have been great. Otherwise only minor issues -- no more than Chevy or Ferd.

A few years back I got to test drive a new Ford. They were doing this as a fund raiser for the schools. I really liked the power running boards they came out with. When you opened the door they came down and out farther than fixed running boards which made them more useful.
I have not checked into it but maybe the aftermarket sells something like that now. I keep thinking of checking into these everytime I take the old 1981 F350 out which isn't too often.

You might want to check on that warranty. Back when Chrysler had the lifetime powertrain warranty, it only applied to the original owner and switched to 3/36 if sold used. I don't know if it is still that way or not. Nice truck.

I think the warranty will transfer. I bought a 14 Durango about the same way and have the paperwork in my name with the original factory warranty. I remember the years you are talking about where the original owner is the only one who got the good warranty. It was a while back though. I think the original now only goes for 36K and it's wise to buy some kind of extended warranty any more, unless you own a dealership, etc.

Good trucks.

And a good size too. I wish I had one with a single cab. Couldn't carry as much stuff that I don't need that way.

John what did you do with the 150 Ford? A 98 would be a step up for me. Would also be a long drive to fetch it home.

John, nice truck and I think you will like it. On my third Ram now with a '13 but it is a 4 door. Had to also add running boards. Be sure to check E-pay for them. I bought mine much cheaper than anywhere else and they worked and looked fine.

Hope you enjoy your new truck as much as I like mine. I get some grief from my vertically challenged other half about not having any step to help her to get in. More space behind the seat in this truck than in other regular cabs I have had in the past. Of coarse some trucks used to have the gas tank behind the seat. I really don't care for four door trucks. I put a removable tool tote in the box for cargo. Bruce

I just put the step on her side on my trucks. Stumps can play heck with'em but women get shorter as they get older so they're always needed.
