Been working cutting and splitting the logs we got last month, put a good hurtin on the pile. Lucky this piece of oak was split in half, that's my Stihl ms460 with a 20" bar, and dp muffler, big piece of wood, the saw made quick work out of it, amazing how fast it cuts! I split were the logs are then put it I wood shed, a muddy mess getting there.

Wish I had that wood shed!!!

My dad was always one to "be prepared" He said having a full years worth of wood cut up in advance was necessary in case you got hurt or sick.

Two years maybe three if I'm lucky, Yes having wood is like money in the bank having it season is like collecting interest

Some good quality hardwood too! I'll second what Gene said. Reminds me, I need to put up shed asap given the darned pile of it in my driveway and in the lower lot that needs to be processed. Then there is all the power company forestry contractor cut and piled, I was able to secure all of that on our land and the neighbors. At least now with a full time job I can afford a few of these kinds of things that have been lacking, its been tarps for years LOL ! Well I have one small make shift shed from demo materials and that has helped. You and your brother made out good on that tree job, you'll rest easy once its in that shed. I'll bet that shed will be full and then some, that was quite a bit from the golf course.

We had a triaxel with trailer, guy said he can put 6 cords on the truck and 2 on the trailer, he brought 4 loads, so prolly over 28 cords -+, it's oak, locust and cherry. My shed is 20x18 it will hold close to 12 cords maybe more, I really don't like stacking that high thought, the chunks are 24" long, so a little heavy. Lol, yes we were very lucky to get this wood free, other than our labor.

Billy, I should have said the beam above the wood in the shed is the half way point of the shed, the back half has about a cord in it that I burn now.

Have a C-70 grain truck that I loaded three cords of firewood on just by throwing it in there. Has 54 inche sides and it was heaped up.
