Bought a 14' dr-a grain drill. It was missing some seeds boots. Priced boots was going to be about $400 to replace them with salvage units. Found an old 8' van burnt fb-a had the parts I needed. Got it for next to nothing as owner said it was rusted soild from fertilizer. Got it home slid the fertilizer drive gears back and the seed boxes spin just fine. Don't need fertizer on the drill anyway. Now I can't use it for parts, as a smaller drill will work better for me. Now I need to find another source of parts. This ever happen to any one else, get a parts machine thats to good to part?

Years ago I bought a JD 6600 combine for parts. After I got it home and looked it over real close I found out it was in better shape than the one I had. So I ran the "parts" combine and used my original one for parts.

MANY many of us have been there. That is how I got several 600 series Mc Culloch chainsaws at flea markets. I start swapin parts around and when done I have one really striped junk core of a saw that is now just junk. Saved two or three others with the parts.

Bought a used Cockshutt SP combine for a parts machine. Turned out that it was in better shape mechanically than the one that we had - so we ran both combines for many more years.
