looking for some info on touch o matic on '50 JD M. recently had the tractor split to put a new clutch and pressure plate and bearings put in it, so put everything back together and tractor runs great problem is when having hydraulic lines apart air got in the system and i'm having trouble bleeding the air out of it. i keep filling it up with oil and bleeding it getting air out but the only way i can get the 3pt hitch to raise and lower is if i park it on a slope with the front of the tractor facing down the hill and as soon as i pull it on the level it won't raise or lower. can anyone offer me some advice on what i need to do or the best way to bleed the air from the system? worked fine before split the tractor kind of lost on this one

You are sucking air in the big suction line. Replace the rubber seals and all will be well. BTW - You need 20wt or 30wt NON detergent oil. If you put anything else in there get it out.

Not familiar with how it's plumbed, but somehow the pump suction is not submerged in oil when the tractor is
level. Could be a leak in the line from the tank to the pump letting it suck air, low oil level, clogged
suction strainer.

Once the pump primes, the system will be self purging of air. If it continues to get air in the lines,
somehow it is drawing the air in, something is wrong.

Thanks fellas for the help you were right it ended up being the bushings in the larger line. made new bushings put oil in it and it sucked it right up and works perfectly. appreciate the help
