last fall I cleaned up pidgeon litter in the barn basement,wheeled it out into the field.

spread it around with the 8n and the york rake

the green field on the laft is wheat,but on the right is hay,,already this spring you can see where I spread the pidgeon litter last fall,it is that green circle,,I was amazed how much greener it got,The picture is hard to tell,its much easier to see in real life.
 
You must have a LOT of pigeons! By what I hear being in the environs of their "residue" (dust) can be hazardous to your health.
 
Some of our fields are commonly carpeted with henbit each spring. Last fall we spread cattle manure on parts of a couple of fields. It was amazing how the already established henbit responded this time. I've never noticed it this obvious before!
 
Is it true that a pigeon is jut a flying rat ?, and have no real value other than an interesting target and mulch !
 

Back when people actually ate a much larger variety of foods than we do now, squab (young pigeon) was a staple. Reading the old texts it appeared every farm boy had a pigeon loft in the barn. Compared to chicken, ducks, geese and pheasants, I don't see where pigeons eat anything unusual or disgusting.
