Milestone Herbicide in Weed Wiper

Thinking about building a weed wiper for thistles in pasture. Have Milestone on hand. Talked to the guy that sells the wicks, and he only knows about glyphosate. Anyone used a similar herbicide in a wiper? The label recommends 5-7 oz/ac for control of Canada whistle, but says nothing about weed wipers.

I would, but it has residual control for years, which would rule out new legumes like clover and such. Not to mention weed wipers are a whole lot simpler.

$34.99 per 2.5 of generic Roundup verses $400.00 a GALLON for Millstone, even if you got it is a no brainer.

If your gonna graze it or hay it, read the MSDS.I've used a lot of herbicides ,but that stuff is potent.

Good Luck in your quest.

I have heard from someone who used one, that weed wipers don't work well unless you go across the field 2 ways,so that the weeds are contacted on more than 1 side. When they are only contacted once, the herbicide only burns 1 side of the weed, and does not kill it.Has anyone else seen this?Mark

I don't think Milestone is powerful enough to get a good kill from just weeds contacting the wiper. Be worth a try tho, just mix it at a higher concentration. Milestone works great on Canadian thistle and is safe to spray in pastures with cattle grazing them. Spendy but good stuff.
