I just saw an article on msn.com about 20 store-bought chocolate chip cookies that are better than home-made. I don't think so. Guess it depends on who bakes your cookies.

20 plus years ago my wife was making bread, and it didn't turn out very good. I made the comment jokingly to leave it to the professionals, I don't get homemade bread any more. learned my lesson.

My wife makes all sorts of WONDERFUL cookies - made Chocolate chip yesterday, and Orange ones today. Her dad like his brick hard and burnt around the edges. He reminds me of a dog chewing on a bone when he gets to working on one. I'd say that ANY store bought cookies are WAY better than the ones his wife makes....

Not to say that my wife does not make cookies very often, but when our kids get home from school and see baking on he counter the first thing they usually ask is who died?
Being in a small rural area when someone has passed all the local ladies get asked to make something for the funeral.

And Casey's.

Quickest way to ruin any baked product is to use margarine. Had an aunt who used a buttload of margarine when she baked and anything she baked tasted like the stuff. Nasty.

About a year ago I got bored so thought that would make a batch of cinnomon rolls like my Mother made {hers were MUCH better}. Mine turned out to be used as hocky pucks. The wife doesnt want me to be bakeing anything other than pancakes, popcorn or eggs anymore.
