what is category "O" three point hitch? I thought cat "1" was the size N tractors use but would the fit a cat "O" implement?

Yep lawn mower or more specifically, garden tractors. My JD400 has it and my old MTD990 (Farmking) had it.

I saw these on craigslist and was wondering if they would work with an N. Might be of interest to you as they aren't too far from ya and you have a tractor that would fit them.

Those are only 3 or 4 feet wide. You'd tear them up even with a 9N IF you could even get them to fit.

Cat '0' implements are small garden tractor type. Max 20 hp. They have 5/8 pull pins,and 5/8 top link as well. Cat 1 uses 7/8 pull pins and 3/4 top link pin.Cat 1 is max 45 horse.A link to 3pt specs is on the left side of this page.

The Ford "N's" set the standard for "CAT 1", then smaller units came along.

Sorta like a "prequel".

Actually most of them have a 'modified' Cat 1 which is really as you say a Cat 0 using the larger pins to make them sound like 'bigger'(LOL)

Nope, not all, 0 is more garden tractor size. My SCUT has a Cat 1 and those I looked at in the 20 - 25 hp size had the Cat 1.

My D250 Wheel Horse has Cat O 3 point hitch but the PTO turns the opposite direction to the PTO on my 8N Ford. Don't know if this is the same on other tractors with Cat O hitch but that would prevent using some implements. Sam.
