Doin Some Spring Spreading

Thought I would get The Boys out and try to get rid of a little more of their winters accumulation of manure. They have had it pretty easy all winter, although I had them out Sunday, so they had plenty of spunk. Had to make a few rounds around just to get them to settle down. Hope to get time to work them a little in the next few days. Bob

I filled more of those spreaders with a pitch fork than I ever did with a loader, so I don't want to go back to those days either.

Actually, I used the spreader and hauled several loads out in the pasture on Saturday with the tractor so I had the tractor tongue on the spreader already. That and I had hooked them up just to give them some exercise and then had the brain storm to finish a little area.

Here is a Moline spreader I used a few time a couple of years ago. You get right in the business end of hauling manure riding on the spreader...lol! Bob

We had to pitch it onto a stone boat and then pitch it off into the garden. Only had 3 Herefords but it wasn't much fun.

We used the spreader until the snow got too deep for the spreader in the field - THEN we used the stone boat until the snow melted.
