Is it time to take snow plow off?

Think it will snow if I remove snow plows, never used them all winter? I think I'll be using mowers soon, spring is early, flowers are blooming, lawn is greening up. Going to service riding mowers and remove snow plows form the tractors.

I've already mowed a small part of my yard. The snowplow is still ready to go if needed. This is just the middle of March. Still got April to contend with.

Not up here yet George! Weather report still calling for snow and a little early to remove snow equipment yet but have been getting summer equipment ready.

Well like others up here in ND, think its best to leave the plow on, in fact I never take it off, just move it into another shed for a summer rest. The flowers look nice coming up, thanks for posting, makes me think were not far off here either.

depends on where you are, if you have several like it sounds like you do i dont think id remove all of them yet im in central new mexico and we usually get a large snowstorm about the first week in april here, just in time to kill all the apple blossoms in the orchard [ im also 6500 feet above sea level in the mountains]

Tempting thought. I would have to build another pole barn, then I would have a tractor that would sit all year or two years. No snow this winter.

I did make a quick hitch, so it's not hard changing snow blade to mower. What takes time is putting on the chains, then removing them, BPIA.

You might be OK. Here in Michigan I have seen it snow right before Memorial Day. I got caught with my pants down last November when we suddenly got 16". I hate when that happens, my snowblower is a pain to put on my Troybilt garden tractor.

Hi Geo. Our flowers are the same. And lawn will need cutting in a week or so. At this stage we might get a dusting of snow but unlikely. Good luck. Ed Will Oliver BC about 20 miles north of US border

I spent an hour on the mower yesterday. But the plow is staying on the SXS and the studded tires are remaing on the Tahoe.

I woke up to this this morning LOVING the H20 we need so bad, here the ground temp is also up enough it is all but melted by this posting time,,, But we can get big storms yet till in May at times

I told you a month or two ago to put the mower back on, is not fair for you to not get a good amount of snow! LOL

poring down rain here now, looked at the lawn yesterday, will need mowed by the week end. better get those darn blades sharpened, at least got the oil changed last fall after the last mowing.

I took down one snow fence but left the other one up. Here in Northwest Iowa we could still get caught in a snow storm. The temps have been above average but old man winter could still raise it's ugly head.

Noooooo, don't do it. Then you'll make a blizzard come... and it'll be ALL your fault. :)

Beautiful looking yard - which looks like it will soon be even more beautiful. NICE!

I remember that snow storm as well, but is was on the 10th of April 1973.

My moms birthday.

Electric out for 4 days.

Can you guess someone like flowers? More flowers means less mowing. Flowers around trees and buildings means no weed wacking.

I remember that one too. I didn't go to work for two and a half days. Couldn't get there down hiway 163 for 16 miles. My neighbor hired me to run a steel tracked bulldozer to push snow all over town. Didn't haul it, I drove it!!! No one ever said a word. I reckon there would be litigation of all kinds for that now!!

I've waited all winter to install the snow blower on the Cockshutt 40 but I think by the middle of March it is not going to happen. This has been the least snow I have seen in my lifetime. Even if we do get a late spring blizzard now it won't last long and I can push away most of it with the blade. The snow blower will sit in the shed til next winter.

Living in Missouri as I do, I'm almost afraid to admit this, but I never put mine on this year. My hydraulics tore up in the fall and I disassembled them and one thing after another has happened, truck wreck (Jan, teenager hit my invisible truck and did $6800 in visible damage), wife's car giving trouble (Jan),brother in law died (Feb),church's sceptic failed (Mar, work in process), just haven't gotten back on the tractor problem yet. This is only about the third year I can remember in the last 50 that there was never enough snow to plow it.
