OT - Water Heater Follow-Up

Thanks to all those who replied to my post last week. Went down to the basement and the breaker had not tripped at all so hit the reset button and soon had hot water again and has been working normally now for a week. Not sure what that means, but probably need to do elements/thermostats someday. I appreciate the temporary reprieve.

Sounds like a thermostat stuck and overheated the water heater that threw the breaker on the water heater.

Might happen again or it might be a one-time thing just never know.

Or the bottom element went out. If the volume of hot water seems short,it's most likely that bottom element.
Ours popped the breaker the other day. I know full well the bottom element is bad in ours,I just haven't had the ambition to change it. The wife had the dishwasher going and did laundry all day. Pretty sure it just worked that top element too much.

Definitely if you only getting 5 or 10 gallons of water out of a 40 or more gallon water heater bottom element could certainly be out

We had something similar happen, you should probably drain/flush the tank.
