There used to be a radio program on KSTP 1500 hosted by Joel Soucheray called "Garage Logic" Joel talked about many things, but one reoccurring topic that he and his listeners brought up was "Cylinder Index". It was his tongue in cheek way of quanitying the rank or status of one's tinkering. He limited the cylinders to combustion engines for the likes of lawnmower, boat motor, snowmobile, autos, airplane... Every once in a while I take inventory of my CI to see where I'm at. Currently I'm in the 65-70 range. I'm curious to hear what some of other YTers are at.
 
That radio show is still on. I just got in from a trip in the car and was listening to it on the way home.
I have not figured my C.I. in a while. The last time I checked it was pushing 200.
 
Never thought of it like that have added up the horse power a time or tow. but in a few minutes I came up with 144 cylinders and doubt that I got them all.
 
I always thought there should be a rating for say JD v. Kawasaki, but didn't want to buck the system.
