Looking at purchasing a E3. Couple of issues. Guys says the brakes do not work and the hydraulics work great when cold but once oil warms they get weak. He did say if the head is locked in the power steering works with no issues. Said he has been using it like this for years. Can not seem to get brakes or a pump from any parts house. Could the pump be rebuilt? Is there a possibility the brakes could be adjusted to work or should I just run from this thing? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the E3 was only built in 1968, with a 4 cylinder engine. In 1969 they put a 6 cylinder Chevy engine and called it a K. As far as I know the parts off an early K, except engine, will work

But thee regular E was build several years before and anything off them will almost fit. I can,t believe you can not get the hydraulic pump. It is just a simple belt driven pump like power steering on two ton trucks. I bought a new e3 and ran it for sever years. The brakes are a mister cylinder right under the floor board and wheel cylinders. I never had any brake trouble . You should be able to find kits I would thing but then I forget 68 is 45 years ago.
