Chase bank and tractor funds...

Anyone else getting these flyers from Chase bank offering $200 if you open a savings account (min $15000) and $300 to open a checking account w/ direct deposit? I'm thinking about taking them up on it...but how do they make it pencil out on their side? They only require you stay with them for 6 months. Is there some fine print I can't see???

Most people won't go to effort to
change after the 6 months. Plus can you
imagine trying to change a direct
deposit 2 times a year with a major
employer?

There is a very good reason they're called "Chase" bank. They chase their customers away. They chased me away.

Good gosh, man. They will make a big profit off you for the next several years. Stay with your local bank...they know you and can help you quickly if help is needed.

Don't worry about the "fine print", the big print is easy to read.

The big banks could not care less about you. They are casting the waters with this offer to see if any fish (sucker fish) takes the bait.

(quoted from post at 16:49:34 03/07/16) Give them what amounts to a $15000 zero interest loan? How can that not pencil out for them?

They are paying me $200 if I keep it there for a few months....right now I make basically nothing in the credit union.

They are local here, about 8 miles from home.

Think there is a rule about how much money they can get from the Federal Reserve vs how much money they have on deposit from customers. So your money would help them be able to get more .25% interest money from The Fed.When you make a deposit in any bank you are in reality giving them an unsecured loaned backed up by a enity that's 19 Trillion$ in
the hole.

My MIL wanted to add her daughter (my wife) as a signatory on her accounts after my FIL passed away. The attorney recommended that she not remove the FIL name from the accounts just now in case there are checks that come in his name. Many banks won't accept for deposit a check made out to someone not on the account (our bank won't). The first bank, PNC had no problem adding my wife and leaving FIL's name on the accounts. When they went to Chase they insisted that his name be removed and would not budge on it. MIL is closing her accounts after being with them and the banks they bought up for something like 50 yrs. "Chase away" indeed.
