I was talking with a couple guys the other day, and kubota came up, I told them that kubota now has a line of hay equipment, does anyone know if that's there own line, or did they buy out another company? I thought they bought Vermeer, but I can't remember for sure.
 
Jay rrlund has it right on hay equipment. Kubota also bought KVERNELAND for tillage equipment. Kubota is working on having a full line of equipment.
 
Actually R was right but the purchase was a much larger European company called Kverneland group , a larger manufacture of tillage tools in Europe that also happened to own the Vicon
brand. Going to be a great addition I think over time and gives Kubota quite an opening in the European market. Good time to be a KUBOTA dealer IF they get it right.
 
I am watching this all with keen interest , as my nearest dealer,former CIH full line dealer, is now going full line Kubota. They have a big round baler in the yard now. Only time will tell if they will be able to make market penetration with hay equipment, as NH/CIH , and JD seem to hold the hay tools market here. Of course ,price points can help , though farmers buying new hay equipment want reliable proven tools , and not just bargain price. Resale value means a lot too on a $30,000.00 purchase.
 
Actually for the very immediate future supply is going to be a problem. The large vicon bailers are not the cheapest on the market but right now dealer wait time on one is 6 months or more. Once all the dealers get stocked up this should end. Not positive how strong the hay market is going to be this year. With the new higher horsepower tractors coming from KUBOTA going to be more dealers wanting to get on board.
 
i priced a new kubota balor made a 4x5 bale for 32500 in line with a deere and newholland not sure i would want one but it may be good way to go. old habbits die hard though love my deeres lol.
