OT Insurance

It seems that since our insurance agent sold out the new one is raising rates every couple of months. Does anyone on here have USAA insurance and if could they tell me the good or bad about it. Thanks

My friend insures his autos and property through them and usually has good things to say. One word of caution, if you have any dilapidated buildings on your property, they may force you to tear them down. My friend had a large old hog barn in which the roof in once section partially collapsed from a heavy snow load. USAA considered it a hazard and gave him a short time period in which it had to be torn down and removed. We did it all by hand and one John Deere B. That was a lot of work!

I personally have American Family. Every time I renew I look around for quotes and no one, including independent brokers, has been able to beat them. I realize that depends on property, state, etc...

I switched to USAA a few years back from Liberty and in doing so it saved me 50% from the get go. Plus I have an auto loan threw them since no one else would let me have the money to buy a car. Not ever had any problem with them and if and when there is a claim they pay up fast

I have my vehicles covered through USAA. Have always received great service. Have had a few claims over the years, but never notice any large increases because of them. Have even gotten a few refunds when their losses were lower than normal.

As DJB said their homeowners is fussy. When we moved into our current place they had a list of demands of what needed to be fixed. We were able to negotiate and gain some time, but in the end switched to a different company that would just not cover the failing barn. The oddest of the repair required was the old 2 holer had a tree leaning on it that they wanted removed. They never noticed that there was no back wall! Tree is still there but the outhouse is gone. There was also an old horse barn that was in real bad shape. It was kinda challenging to explain how it fell over and caught fire early one Sunday morning.

I have everything with American Family. Homeowners, three vehicles, farm and ranch liability, etc.

I'm a member of USAA, but have no insurance with them. Just a couple of days ago, I did a comparison between AmFam and USAA on my pickup and it came out to about a dollar per month difference.

From what I know they are ok so are a few other companies BUT: They may not be able to help you with farm or the commercial side of things. Same for other companies like AAA.

I have been with USAA for over 43 years.

No complaints.

All of our vehicles and home in Dallas are covered.

Great claim service throughout the years.

Their roadside assist coverage is great.

USAA would not insure our farm home, farm land, or farm equipment.
